"I think you have to divorce the president's words from his actions", the Louisiana lawmaker declared.

Multiple outlets have reported that Mueller's investigators want to talk to the president in particular about his decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey in May 2017, and to fire former national security adviser General Michael Flynn in February that year.

In recent days Trump has stepped up his attacks on Mueller's probe, mentioning the special counsel by name for the first time in a tweet Saturday, and on Monday claiming the investigation was biased.

Mr Comey's book, A Higher Loyalty, topped Amazon's best-seller list on Sunday. Any dismissal of Mueller would have to be carried out by Rosenstein, who has publicly expressed his support for Mueller.

This flurry of reaction came after The New York Times reported Thursday that Mueller has subpoenaed business documents from the Trump Organization, something Mr. Trump had called a red line a year ago.

The AfCFTA could create an African market of over 1,2 billion people with a GDP of $2,5 trillion, the pan-African bloc said. The AfCFTA will also strengthen Africa's position in global trade, he added.

US President Donald Trump's lawyers have provided special counsel Robert Muellers team written descriptions that chronicle key moments under investigation in hopes of curtailing the scope of a presidential interview, a media report said. Trump asserted without elaboration that McCabe, whose firing he had publicly called for, knew "all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the Federal Bureau of Investigation!". Trump sought to cast doubt on their veracity. John Kennedy (R-LA) noted that while "all hell would break loose" if Trump canned the special counsel, he wasn't especially concerned because the president's tweets were just him saying "unexpressed" stuff that's on his mind. "And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not".

The written materials provided to Mueller's office include summaries of internal White House memos and contemporaneous correspondence about events Mueller is investigating, according to the sources.

Also over the weekend, Trump's personal lawyer, John Dowd, cited the "brilliant and courageous example" by Sessions and the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility and said Rosenstein should "bring an end" to the Russian Federation investigation "manufactured" by Comey.

The tweets and lawyer remarks have been met with bipartisan criticism, with Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) stating that the president needs to "act like it" if he's innocent. I don't think the president is going to fire him.
