Thomas, Watson, Noren and Kisner make Match Play semi-finals

You have to really take it one hole at a time, and I've tried to do a lot better job this year of playing my game as opposed to playing to my opponent.

The 39-year-old Watson was one of four remaining players on Sunday.

Oosthuizen was not going out without a fight, though, and recorded birdies at 14 and 16 to take the match to the wire. That soon became irrelevant when Kevin Kisner built an early lead and kept right on rolling to an 8-and-6 victory in the quarterfinals.

But his victory appeared to affect his memory, Poulter praising Oosthuizen for being a Masters victor - a tournament he never won.

"I'm not finished", Thai said of his late comeback. I got off to a bit of a scrappy start today.

Bubba Watson was the first man through to the last four after a 5 and 3 victory over Kiradech Aphibarnrat, the two-time Masters champion turning on the style on the back nine.

The wins mean Thomas is just two more victories away from claiming top spot in the rankings as a win in Texas will see him depose Dustin Johnson. No one likes losing this deep in the tournament, but Thomas conceded being distracted at the additional prize - the No. 1 ranking - attached to a semifinal match. Thomas won three straight holes to start the back nine, made a 6-foot par putt to stay in control and closed out Stanley, 2-and-1. After missing a 15-footer for birdie at the 18th, Kuchar watched Kisner sink a 12-footer for his birdie to win.

But that was Kisner's only highlight and Watson put him out of his misery on the next green, holing from seven feet for birdie and the match while doubling his WGC collection following his HSBC Champions win in 2014.

Thomas' feat of winning all three of his group matches was replicated by several other players competing at the prestigious event, including Spaniard Sergio Garcia and American Patrick Reed.

Garcia swept his group, rallied for a 3-and-1 decision over Xander Schauffele. Thomas pummelled Italian Francesco Molinari 7&5 to set up a meeting with South Korean Kim Si-woo - a 2 up victor over Webb Simpson. Watson next faces Harman, a match of Georgia lefties.

Kisner showed grit in the semi-final, making an eagle at 12 to square with Noren, then matched him with six birdied in a row before sinking a five-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole, the 12th, to dispatch Noren.

— Kevin Kisner, a 4-and-3 victor over Johnson, figured he was headed for a playoff when Adam Hadwin took a 1-up lead on the 18th over Bernd Wiesberger.

While she's excited for the rally, she said the students' work doesn't stop Saturday. "This is people's lives", Ho-Shing said. "This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant".
