Palestinians arrested after crossing Gaza border into Israel

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has warned Israel against carrying out any acts of aggression against the Palestinian people, saying the response to such acts would be "immediate".

The drill comes amid tensions on Gaza's border with Israel.

Abbas' government has called on Hamas to disarm and relinquish control of security in Gaza as a condition for Egyptian-mediated reconciliation talks to proceed.

The IDF retaliated for the believed missile attack, striking two Hamas positions in the northern Gaza Strip using tank fire.

Most Palestinians have been split since Hamas seized Gaza in 2007, ousting forces of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas who now governs just parts of the West Bank.
