One of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School's most visible student activists will postpone his first year of college to devote time to political causes.

A St. Louis radio host threatened David Hogg: "When we kick their ass they all like to claim we're drunk".

On 9 April 2018, a spokesperson for the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns the station, told the Post: "We have accepted Mr. Allman's resignation, and his show has been canceled". I've been hanging out getting ready to ram a hot poker up David Hogg's ass tomorrow. "Stop supporting an adult who spews such hate".

On Saturday night after a town hall, Newman said in an interview she felt Allman crossed a line, and she "needed to step up".

Reports state that since Friday, Ruth's Chris Steak House, The Gellman Team real estate group and PALM Health were some of the groups who said via Twitter that they pulled advertising from Allman's show.

Hogg's college aspirations got national attention last month when he targeted Fox News host Laura Ingraham's advertisers after she tweeted out an article about four different campuses in the University of California school system-UC Los Angeles, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Irvine-turning down his application. Hogg called on advertisers to boycott her show, which some did, including TripAdvisor, Expedia, Wayfair and others. Almost 29 advertisers have walked away and Ingraham took a one-week break. Fox stands by its star and she returns to the air on Monday. The context for his comment was unclear.

Oil edges up but US-China trade tensions curb gains
The Trump administration has said it is taking action as a crackdown on China's theft of United States intellectual property. He's also instructed his secretary of agriculture "to implement a plan to protect our farmers and agricultural interests".

"But even before the Ingraham controversy broke, the role of Hogg and other Parkland shooting survivors in the national gun debate was raising complicated questions, as pundits across the conservative spectrum have argued that the teens shouldn't be protected from criticism simply due to their age and status as victims of a traumatic mass shooting", the Riverfront Times wrote.

St. Louis radio and TV personality Jamie Allman has landed in hot water with a tweet about his desire to assault Parkland student David Hogg with a hot poker.

Allman's crude remarks represented the potential of yet another public relations crisis for Sinclair, which has come under harsh criticism in recent weeks after a video of dozens of its anchors reading the same mandated script about "fake stories" went viral.

"He says you shouldn't have the right to have a certain kind of gun but I should have the right to have any kind of backpack I want, " Allman said incredulously on one segment. By Monday, Allman's Twitter account had been set to private.

According to his bio in BizJournal.com, Allman's morning show was quite popular as it was the top-rated show during the morning drive time (6:00 a.m.to 10:00 a.m. local time).
