Gary Sanchez returns to Yankees lineup for start of Red Sox series

The Yankees will begin their first series of the season on Tuesday night against the Boston Red Sox in Fenway Park in a huge matchup.

Kay and Mad Dog are experts on the NY sports experience. The game gets underway at 7:10 p.m. ET. Boston comes into this game -145 over NY. That's an advantage for Yankee bettors as long as Severino can keep NY in the game. The Rays have lost eight straight, six to the Red Sox. The team's gained 6.3 units for bettors taking the moneyline while earning 3.0 units against the spread (ATS). "I was shocked." In Mad Dog's accounting, the booing was done by "seven Yankees fans who are drunk, who are sitting there with a poncho and who want to go out there and boo".

The total has gone over in six of New York's last seven games.

Red Sox games have had an over/under record of 4-5 so far in 2018.

For the Yankees, injured Aaron Hicks, who was set for a rehab start Monday night and could rejoin the Yankees in Boston, is 8-for-23 (.348) against Sale, but he's the only current Yankees player with any success against the skinny left-hander - this Yankees group hits a combined.183 with one homer in 126 at-bats against Sale.

The Red Sox started the season without three potential starting pitchers.

Fellow future Hall of Famer Dave Winfield hit only one home run in his first 26 games after moving from San Diego to the Yankees in 1981.

Luis Severino (2-0, 1.38 ERA) will get the nod for the visiting Yankees.

On 9 April 2018, a spokesperson for the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns the station, told the Post: "We have accepted Mr. On Saturday night after a town hall, Newman said in an interview she felt Allman crossed a line, and she "needed to step up".

Severino is 2-4 with a 4.32 ERA against the Red Sox in his short career, but he was 2-1 against Boston in his breakout 2017. It made it a smooth transition."Los Angeles Angels outfielder Chris Young, who spent the last two years in Boston, was one of the few who did it in reverse, playing two years in NY, before going straight to Boston". Last season, Sale was the runner-up for the Cy Young award, while Severino finished third. He recorded five starts against the Yankees a year ago and put up a 0-3 record with a 2.65 ERA and 50 strikeouts.

None of that mattered a few months later when he hit the bottom-of-the-11th homer to beat Boston in Game 7 of the AL Championship Series. The club's starters have an ERA of 1.70, a WHIP of 1.00 and a strikeouts-per-nine of 9.0. He'll be 33 in August, so there might be some room for concern that he is on the decline - but he looked great coming out of the bullpen after returning from the DL last year (15.1 IP, 8 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 19 K, including the playoffs), and he's been just as good through two starts this year.

Now, the computer has simulated the latest installment of the historic rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox 10,000 times, simulating every conceivable at-bat, and locked in strong picks on the money line, run line and over-under that you can only get over at SportsLine.

In career starts against New York, Sale is sporting a 1.81 ERA while leaving opposing batters batting only.193 against him.

As for Gary Sanchez, who said on Sunday he believed he would be back in the lineup Tuesday after being removed with a cramp in his right calf during Friday's 14-inning loss at the Stadium and missing the next two games, Cashman said the team would wait until Sanchez sees the trainers before making a decision about whether he'll be in the lineup.

These facts, however, don't mean that this contest will be an easy task for Sale as he is still facing two of the best right-handed power hitters in baseball (Stanton and Judge).

Acquired from Miami in December after hitting a major league-leading 59 home runs, and in the midst of a $325 million, 13-year contract, Stanton lived up to the lofty expectations on opening day.

But for the Red Sox, the news could have been a lot worse.
