Guardiola unsure over length of Aguero injury absence

The City boss revealed a major blow with the news that Sergio Aguero has been ruled out of the trip to London after feeling a reaction from his recent cameo appearances off the bench.

Striker Sergio Aguero will miss Saturday's Premier League match against Tottenham at Wembley as he remains troubled by a knee injury, Guardiola said.

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has indicated that Pep Guardiola needs to emulate Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's feat of winning the Champions League with more than one team to be regarded as one of the best managers in the world.

However, Guardiola's side are seeking to recover from a dispiriting run of results, having gone out of the Champions League after losing home and away against Liverpool in the quarter-finals, as well as missing the opportunity to clinch the title against United last weekend.

At a press conference, the 47-year-old told reporters: "After action from Ashley Young, he could not train". He played the last 15 or 20 minutes and, after the game, he said "I could not run, I cannot play".

Aguero has scored 30 goals from 39 matches in all competitions this season.

The man had reportedly climbed onto the roof of his shack just as officers had begun returning calm to the demolition project. It was reported by the Daily Mail that other protesters were heard egging him on by chanting: "Throw, throw, throw".

Pochettino's side are looking to wrap up a top four finish for the third consecutive season, and need nine more points to do just that.

Adding that John Stones will join Aguero in sitting out against Spurs, Guardiola continued: "I don't know [when Aguero will be back]".

If all that has slightly dented their credentials as the greatest English team of all time, as some had prematurely hailed them, then it's hardly an unmitigated disaster for City. "So we have six games". It's not unusual for a team to win a lot of a games and when they lose people ask "what happened?" There are six games and 18 points left to play for this term, while second-placed United trail City by 13 points.

"They have been playing great with a lot of success in the last two, three seasons and are in the semi-final of the FA Cup this season. It's just thinking about what Tottenham's strengths are and trying to win the game".

"So we have six games". But we have handled the pressure all season. "Football is full of emotions but what we have to try to do is focus and win our games against Tottenham, Swansea, and after that the other ones".
