Team Nigeria win 2 bronze medals at Commonwealth Games

Indian athletes Rakesh Babu and Irfan Kolothum Thodi are being sent home from the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games after a needle was found in a cup in their bedroom at the Athletes' Village, the Commonwealth Games Federation said.

Anish achieved the feat when he stormed his way into the gold medal with a Games record in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol event at the Belmont Shooting Centre.

Australia's Sergei Evglevski claimed the silver with 28, while the bronze medal went to Sam Gowin (17) of England.

Like Odunuga, Milicent Agboegbulem won a bronze medal for Team Nigeria in the 75kg boxing event after she defeated Kenya's Elizabeth Andiego in the quarterfinals.

On Saturday, they will look to redeem themselves and bag the bronze.

Other African countries in the medal table are Cameroon, Ghana and Seychelles who all have just one bronze each and are in joint-33rd. Elsewhere, the wrestlers continued to shine for India as Bajrang Punia bags a gold in the 65kg category, while Pooja Dhanda and Mausam Khatri manage a silver each in their respective bouts.
