Neymar's potential move to Real Madrid will not happen because he could never play at the same club as Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the agent who helped take him to Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar was struck down with a foot injury in the capital club's 3-0 win over Olympique de Marseille, requiring surgery on a broken metatarsal, but it now looks like he could be back in time for PSG's title celebrations before heading off to Russian Federation with Brazil for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

And with the World Cup two months away, the Ligue 1 leaders have provided a positive medical update on Neymar's condition. Brazil opens its tournament against Switzerland on June 17 at the Rostov Arena. "Perhaps he'll have time to play a few matches before the end of the season", Emery stated.

In quotes reported on the club's Twitter feed, Emery said: "Neymar is close to a return after the latest tests".

Monaco beat PSG to the French crown for the first time in five years last season, but the capital club have dominated this campaign and can clinch the title with victory over last season's champions tomorrow. When Neymar gets here, he'll be very eager to play.

The Qatar-backed Parisians lead Monaco by 14 points with six games to go, meaning they are on the brink of a fifth title in six seasons, despite having to cope without the injured Neymar for more than a month.

"The speed of his recovery in the next 10 days will allow the right date to be set for a return to training without any restrictions", was all PSG were willing to say in a statement.
