The United States will want to maintain a dialogue with Russia about strategic stability following Western missile strikes on Syria, Russian news agencies cited a Russian Foreign Ministry official as saying on Sunday.

"Again, we are being threatened".

He also did not rule out future military action.

President Donald Trump criticized Russian Federation in his address to the country following the launch of missiles on Friday night.

Syria also has some modern air defenses, including the Pantsir-S1 combined short-to-medium range surface to air missile (SAM) and anti-aircraft artillery system.

Syrian air defenses responded to the joint strikes by the United States, France and Britain.

The Office of Website Management, Bureau of Public Affairs, manages this site as a portal for information from the U.S. Pence also said Russian Federation was spreading misinformation about USA missile attacks in Syria late on Friday.

"The current escalation of the situation around Syria has a devastating impact on the whole system of worldwide relations", Putin said. "Russian Federation will demand a meeting of the United Nations security council, I am sure", Dzhabarov, who is the deputy head of Russia's foreign affairs committee, was quoted by RIA as saying.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused the USA of attacking Syria when it finally had a chance for peace and likened the evidence of the April 7 chemical weapons attack in Douma - which precipitated Friday's attack - to the evidence that justified the 2003 Iraq invasion.

"Before we took action, the United States communicated with the Russian Federation to reduce the danger of any Russian or civilian casualties", Huntsman said.

The U.S. -led operation won broad Western support. He added that he knew the media would "seize" on the phrase, but said it should be used often. Russian Federation and Syria have said there was no evidence of a chemical weapons attack.

A bill outlining Russia's response to U.S. sanctions, was submitted on April 13 to the lower house of the Russian parliament, the State Duma, by the factions' heads and speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

The British Royal Air Force's unit for the assault consisted of four Tornado GR4 ground attack aircraft armed with the Storm Shadow long-range air-to-surface missile, which the UK's Defense Ministry said targeted "chemical weapons sites" in Homs.
