The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday urged the Election Commission to countermand the Assembly election in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar segment of the city's southwest suburb after about 10,000 allegedly fake voter IDs were allegedly found in the locality. Sanjiv Kumar also said that form 6A (Application for Inclusion of Name in Electoral Roll by an Overseas Elector) with a counterfoil with certain numbers were also found. The counting of votes and announcement of result will take place on May 15. "We'll check whether there are fake ones too".

The incident was brought to light by a candidate contesting on a JD (S) ticket from the same constituency. Reports said that he visited the apartment during campaigning for the upcoming polls in the state.

"The flat (Flat no 115 SLV Parkview Apt, Jalahalli) belongs to one Ms Manjula Nanjamuri and was rented out to one Sri Rakesh. Apart from two aluminium boxes filled with ID cards, there were two printers and six laptops". He alleged there could be 50,000 fake voter ID cards and the list included the ID card of BBMP joint commissioner Tippeswamy. Officials said most of these IDs are more than ten years old and the Election Commission is checking whether any of them are fake.

This was the case when BJP workers unearthed this factory where thousands of fake EPIC was being produced and they also found almost 10,000 genuine EPIC cards in the apartment coming under Rajarajeshwari Nagar Assembly segment where the factory was set up. "She is a former BJP corporator and Rakesh also contested corporation election on BJP ticket in 2015", he said.

"Congress is constantly under surveillance of BJP government". He said that the colour in the counterfoil appeared unusual, and that an inquiry was on. Lodge an FIR against all these top BJP leaders. They are running a factory of lies. "We do not know if he is related in anyway to Muniratna", he added. "Who is committing corrupt practices in Karnataka's elections today?" he asked and demanded action against the BJP by the EC. He further said that the BJP was adopting such tactics as the party was staring at defeat.

"In that constituency (Raja Rajeshwari Nagar), this drama was enacted and it was not the EC or the police, but the BJP people who raided a flat which belongs to a BJP leader and the tenant is also a BJP leader", Sharma alleged. They just want to blame BJP without any substance. "We have proof of various things, which we will present before the EC", said Javadekar. I was a deep conspiracy and free and fair probe should be conducted. This is also a shocking incident.

There are a total of 4,71,459 voters in Rajarajeshwarinagar constituency, and the elector to population ratio was 75.43 percent, which is higher than the average for Bengaluru. Nanjamari's son Sridhar Nanjamari however clarified that Rakesh was his cousin and that Rakesh had no connection with the flat. "I am the only son of Manjula Nanjamari".
