Well, it looks like they are finally trying now, not only revealing the name of the game's next map, but also the reasoning behind it.

Combine the two and you get Codename: Savage's new name: Sanhok (pronounced "sah-nok"). From now on the island will be known as "Sanhok", which is a mixture of Thai and Filipino and is pronounced "sah-nok". But behind the size, the map offers a biome heavily influenced by Southeast Asia - a mix of thick jungles and impressive mountains, connected by an intricate cave system. Once the executable is downloaded and installed, you'll be ready to play in all future Sanhok tests as well. The times run from Thursday May 10 at 7pm Pacific through Monday May 14 at 4am Pacific. Exiting closed beta, this round will be open to anyone who owns a copy of PUBG on PC. Speaking of which, we don't yet have patch notes on what may have changed since the previous test of Sav-sorry, Sanhok, though we're told we'll see "many fixes and updates" based on player feedback.

Yes, the much awaited and much-anticipated PUBG Savage Map isn't due for an official PUBG launch, for another two months but luckily there is still public testing to take place. Sanhok is a compact, densely-jungled map created to compete with Fortnite Battle Royale's smaller map.
