The new feature introduced is called as voice remote and it is an incremental update and presently available to some selected users.

One of the early features the company promised is a reminder in the YouTube app for users to take a break after a set amount of video watching. As the name of the new feature suggests, a remote that can be controlled by your voice and Voice Remote stands true to it. We never saw the feature appear in the app, but we've been tipped that it has finally started rolling out.

Speak any of the commands below into your device's microphone. You'll see a popup in the app alerting you to the presence of voice remote when it's available on your account. Apparently, you can also skip around in recorded shows and control the volume with your voice.

Your command will be transcribed.

Interestingly, a support page for feature has already been there on Google's website for quite some time now, so it was about time the functionality was rolled out. Basically, it can be used to play particular shows, switch to a different channel, pause/play, and fast forward or rewind content. Google may bring some goodies for them after the initial release.
