Smart also had what could have been the Celtics' highlight of the game, rushing to teammate Al Horford's defense after a flagrant foul from Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith sent the Celtics big man sprawling through the air.

Smith pushed an airborne Horford in the lane and drew a flagrant.

Smart immediately got face-to-face with Smith to let him know he didn't appreciate the shove.

Marcus Smart was not happy about the move from Smith and came over to confront him.

After the game, Smart was asked why he took such significant exception.

"James had praise for Smart after the game, saying "[Smart] always makes plays at the right time". He can't control where his body goes. That's a dirty shot. "It's like a bully, you keep letting a bully keep picking on you, he's going to pick on you until you finally stand up".

Welcome to public school in North Carolina. "That's what the NCAE is". "Please take advantage of that", Hellwig said. He goes on to say he and his wife, who is also a teacher, are struggling and "cannot pay for anything".

The series now shifts to Cleveland for Game 3 on Saturday night, and the four days between games likely won't do much to squash the beef between Smart and Smith.

Smart, it seems, hasn't forgotten. It's not the first time J.R. has done some dirty stuff, especially playing against us. "I felt like we really fed off a lot of our crowd and then on offense we were taking good shots".

Horford is not known for to be particularly animated, but even he admitted the contact crossed a line.

It's possible Smith could face further discipline from the National Basketball Association for his cheap play, but no reports have surfaced as of this writing. "But that's the thing about the group of our guys".

"It was a good call".

"I think it was our energy defensively", said Horford in reference to the 25-2 run.
