The high split of her gown allowed her to show off her lean legs, which were elongated by a pair of silver heels.

The actress has been a regular on the famous red carpet for years now and is well aware of the long-running (if not ridiculous) rule about wearing heels for the event.

Well, this year Kristen put her money where her mouth is and literally kicked off her heels in front of the world's media.

The Twilight star, who is a member of this year's jury at the film festival, wore black Louboutin heels as she arrived at the premiere of the Spike Lee film BlacKkKlansman.

If you've been keeping an eye on the goings-on at the Cannes Film Festival over the last week, then no doubt you've seen some of the fuss about Kristen Stewart. If you're not asking guys to wear heels and a dress, you can't ask me either'.

She slayed everyone on the red carpet at the 71st Cannes Film Festival as she flaunted her sexy figure.

Queen Elizabeth allegedly livid with Meghan Markle's father
He can't go anywhere without being followed, and really, it's quite atrocious and intrusive-and I think it's highly unethical". I think there have been examples in history of how unsafe that can be. "He was so stressed out.

And speaking to the Hollywood Reporter previous year about the Cannes ban on flat shoes, she said: "There's definitely a distinct dress code, right?"

"You just can't ask me to do something that you're not asked to do man".

Back in 2015, a group of well-dressed women was denied entry into a screening at the prestigious festival thanks to their choice of flat shoes.

Not just Kristen but others too have spoken out against the policy, including British actress Emily Blunt, who said: "Everyone should wear flats, to be honest". "That's my point of view".

So in protest, Stewart took off her shoes and walked down the red carpet barefoot.

BlacKkKlansman, which tells the story of an African-American infiltrating the KKK and stars John David Washington and Adam Driver, was given a standing ovation at the end of its premiere on Monday night.
