Messi told TyC Sports on Tuesday that 'it would be awful, for all that Ney means to Barcelona'.

The Brazilian star moved from La Liga giants Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain last summer for a record transfer deal of £198 million.

The Argentine continued: 'I don't compete with Cristiano. I want to win LaLiga and the Champions League together. The fact that these things are spoken of about me, well, that's that. The defender has been in form this season by displaying a classic performance for the Reds and he is set to give himself a real test against the world's best players when they clash.

However, the sanctions for now only affect companies that operate out of the US or have significant exposure there. Also, the economic sanctions by the US will resume after the grace period of between 90 days and 180 days.
