Windows 10's AirDrop-Like "Near Share" Feature Will Support Android and iOS

Microsoft released today three new Windows update packages - KB4100347, KB4134660, and KB4134661.

This feature works similar to Apple's AirDrop as in its lets users to quickly share content between Windows 10 devices.

It is also worth noting that not all systems are getting the update right now, and there are no known issues or bugs hitting these two updates at the time of writing this story.

Microsoft did not provide an estimated deadline for when it would fix the issue with Intel SSDs but said it expects to have a solution for devices using Toshiba SSDs in early June. The first one is security-related update while the other two releases are privacy-related.

In a post on the Microsoft Community, moderator Lonnie_L explained recently: "When attempting to upgrade to the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, select devices with Intel SSD 600p Series or Intel SSD Pro 6000p Series may crash and enter a UEFI screen after reboot". The quickest way to block all Windows 7 updates is to go Control Panel System & Security Windows Update.

If you have a previous version of Windows, then you have already received this Intel microcode patch through Windows Updates KB4090007 and KB4091666. The updates contain only Intel-specific code, which Microsoft has agreed to distribute to ensure more users are protected. Microsoft started rolling out the newest version of Windows 10 on April 30, however, the rollout takes place in stages so the update is not yet available for everyone.

These latest updates are all available via Windows' automatic update installer or through the separate update packages on Microsoft Update Catalog portal.
