Deadly Class is set in a dark interpretation of the 1980s. The Image Comics series, which follows a group of misfit high school students coming of age at a secret academy that trains assassins, was an immediate hit, getting picked up by Syfy for a television adaptation. The series follows eight maverick scientists and a powerful telepath who embark on an expedition to the edge of our solar system aboard The Nightflyer - a ship with a small tightknit crew and a reclusive captain - in the hope of making contact with alien life. The series come from the minds of Game of Thrones scribe George R.R. Martin, and Marvel veterans Joe and Anthony Russo, respectively. Universal Cable Productions is producing with Netflix co-producing.

Martin executive produces with Brian Nelson, Mike Cahill and Andrew McCarthy. The Russo Brothers are on board as executive producers.

SYFY is tuning up its schedule for next season, and we finally have a first look at the Russo brothers' adaptation of the acclaimed indie comic Deadly Class. Deadly Class is not a superhero story, but it's a unique coming-of-age story that involves plenty of death, hence the title.

Former world number one Pliskova smashes hole in umpire's chair
The world number six had a number of run-ins with Mrozinska during the heated encounter and now faces a heavy fine from the WTA. Pliskova put away a simple smash which seemed to land on the line to give her a point to lead 6-5.

The show will take place in San Fransisco in 1987. Adam Targum from Chipmunk Hill also served as executive producer on the pilot, along with Lee Toland Krieger (The Age of Adaline), who also directed.

Based off of Rick Remender and Wes Craig's 2014 series, Deadly Class centers on a homeless teen who suddenly finds himself attending an elite private school, which also happens to be where the world's top crime families send the world's next generation of criminals.

Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Benjamin Wadsworth (Teen Wolf), Lana Condor (X-Men: Apocalypse, Alita: Battle Angel), Maria Gabriela de Faria (Yo Soy Franky, Sitiados), Luke Tennie (Shock and Awe), Liam James (The Way Way Back, The Killing) and Michel Duval (Señora Acero, Queen of the South) comprise the cast. "It'll track these social circles as they try to survive "ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques" and the adolescent uncertainties that transcend even the most unsafe of high school settings".
