Chelsea leading the race to sign Jean-Michael Seri

The £40 million-rated midfielder is also wanted by Chelsea and almost joined Barcelona previous year.

Arsenal have held talks with Jean-Michael Seri about a summer transfer but Chelsea FC are on course to beat the Gunners to his signature, according to reports in the British media.

Seri who is an Ivory Coast global with 18 caps and 30 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring twice joined Nice from Pacos de Ferreira in 2015, after Seri having his youth career at ASEC Mimosas in his native country.

There stays an uncertainty over the managerial positions at each Chelsea and Arsenal which might play a component in any negotiations.


It promises to be a summer of change at the Emirates Stadium and Seri is one of many new faces expected to arrive at the club, whilst there also a handful of current first-team players who are likely to move on to pastures new.

The two London clubs endured disappointing seasons in the Premier League, as Chelsea FC finished fifth and Arsenal ended up sixth.

Conte's future is up within the air after an underwhelming title defence, although the Stamford Bridge membership nonetheless have the chance to complete the marketing campaign with some silverware within the FA Cup last towards Manchester United this Saturday.
