Fayemi declares incumbent governor, Fayose "enemy of Ekiti state"

"President Buhari believes that Fayemi's track record in the state as a reformist, with a penchant for building educational infrastructure and promoting the welfare of the ordinary people, will bolster his chances at the forthcoming polls".

Reacting to President Buhari's congratulatory message to Fayemi, Governor Fayose tweeted on Monday: "President Buhari congratulating Fayemi on his emergence as APC candidate is like day-dreaming".

Meanwhile, APC chieftain, Comrade Timi Frank has mocked APC chieftains who expressed dissatisfaction at the outcome of ward congresses of the party nationwide and the botched governorship primary in Ekiti, asking them to accept the result of their silence in the face of impunity.

But responding, Kolapo Olusola Campaign Organisation (KOCO), called on Fayemi to go beyond seeking forgiveness from Ekiti people to returning the billions of naira looted from the state treasury during his administration.

Olusola of the PDP and Fayemi of the APC are major contenders to the governorship seat of Ekiti State in the coming July 14 governorship election in the state.
