Rodgers' lawsuit against the singer alleges that Kelly "routinely engaged in intimidation, mental, verbal and sexual abuse, during and after sexual contact", The New York Times reports. She said that the singer gave her herpes without telling her he had the disease, and he used the infection as a means to control her.

Rodgers said that Kelly flew her to NY to attend a show and that she "submitted" to sex when he visited her hotel room. The 20-year-old says that Kelly "mentally, sexually and verbally" abused her during their relationship.

Rodgers claims the musician flew her out to one of his concerts in NY where she stayed at a hotel. After a two-month period of communication, Kelly invited her to one of his shows in New York City and paid for her hotel stay.

Evans alleges it was "non-permissive, painful and abusive sex" and that afterwards he criticised her for her 'lack of participation'.

Rodgers says she was in a year-long relationship with Kelly, formed "under the auspices of helping her develop a career in entertainment".

Rodgers said he also filmed her without her consent while performing sexual acts.

Palestinian foreign minister to press ICC on Israeli war crimes probe
Israel claims east Jerusalem as an inseparable part of its capital - though its annexation is not worldwide recognised. Israel said it took a "severe view" of the Palestinian request and called on the ICC to reject the " cynical step".

Kelly has been involved in questionable situations with young women for a number of years. It was there, she says, the 51-year-old coaxed her into having sex with him. "And he basically was trying to make it seem like it was a family thing". "And he's like, 'You know, if you're really, you know, 16, that you can tell Daddy, right?'". He described these women as being his family.

R. Kelly performed onstage at the BET Awards, in June 2013, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. In April, another lawyer, a publicist and an assistant all cut their ties with Kelly as well. The singer is facing a series of sexual violence allegations, and has been accused of running a "sex cult".

An appearance at a concert in his native Chicago scheduled earlier this month was canceled after protests.

Rodgers hopes to help other women who didn't walk away, she said.

A representative for R. Kelly claims that all accusations are false and it is another attempt to smear his name: "R. Kelly never has been accused of hate, and the lyrics he writes express love and desire". She does not wish for a settlement and wants the case to go before a jury.
