Ubisoft has announced Far Cry 5: Hours of Darkness, the first post-launch DLC adventure, will release on June 5 across all platforms.

In the DLC, Redler goes up against the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army in the war-torn country's jungles as he tries to locate and rescue his squad mates, Rambo style.

The DLC will also feature new gear and abilities as well as two different playable modes that will be unlocked after completing Hours of Darkness. On name alone, Hours of Darkness carries a certain thematic and tonal baggage that it hopefully understands, rather than becoming another act of the same failed tonal juggling that plagued Far Cry 5.

Like Far Cry 5's main game itself, Hours of Darkness is playable both solo and via online co-op. Survivor Mode greatly increases the difficulty of the expansion, while Action Movie Mode alters the DLC to be more over-the-top.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr calls National Football League anthem policy 'idiotic'
Does it infringe on the right of players to protest? "I don't think it will be an issue at all". The Jets chairman has been critical of the idea team owners would require players to stand.

You can now get Hours of Darkness alone for $12 and it will be free for you if you have a $30 Season Pass or $90 Gold Edition. Each of the upcoming DLCs will also add more assets to the content creator, plus there will be two additional standalone asset drops. Two more expansions will follow Hours of Darkness, including Lost On Mars (in which you fight aliens on Mars) and Dead Living Zombies (in which you fight zombies). Players can get it on June 5 for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

The DLC will be part of the season pass or sold for $11.99 separately and takes place in Vietnam. Ubisoft added that Far Cry 5's future expansions will also included themed assets for free.

Set in America, a first for the franchise, Far Cry 5 offers players total freedom to navigate a serene-looking yet deeply twisted world as the new junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana.
