Devil May Cry 5 Officially Announced, Nero in the Lead Role

It features Nero, who featured in Devil May Cry 4, but Dante, the original protagonist of the series, did appear at the end of the trailer. During the Xbox presentation, Devil May Cry 5 took the stage and teased a very exciting direction for the franchise.

The announcement of Devil May Cry 5 was made during Microsoft's E3 2018 keynote via a lively, action-packed trailer.

In the game, several years have passed and the threat of demonic power is "long since forgotten". He's now heading his own branch of the demon-hunting business Devil May Cry.

And Capcom is convinced that it's the best DMC game it has ever created, and it certainly looks the part, with fully-scanned and modelled performance capture and the kind of frenetic, balls-to-the-wall action you'd expect from the series. Things must be settled once and for all. With the start of E3 2018, more information on Capcom's next big game will trickle in so stay tuned for updates.

Devil May Cry V is expected to release in Spring 2019.
