'Super Smash Bros. Ultimate' lands December 7th 2018

It's the first Mario Party console game since Mario Party 10 debuted on the Wii U in 2015.

Nintendo gave players a closer look at "Super Smash Bros.: Ultimate" for the Switch on Tuesday.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be available on December 7, 2018.

Every third-party and DLC character from prior games, including Metal Gear Solid's Solid Snake, Street Fighter's Ryu, and Final Fantasy VII's Cloud, will join Smash Ultimate-as too will the fan-favorite weirdo pair of characters Ice Climbers. The trailer's below and there's some real ingenuity here: most awesome part is when the players, using two Switch consoles laid flat in handheld mode, move the consoles around each other to change the layout of a minigame. It's not a confirmed feature yet for the release, but there are already those online who are hoping that the full reveal of the game's features includes news of an online option.

While we had hands-on experience with Super Smash Bros. Board game play goes back to the four-player basics as you take turns and race across the board searching for Stars.

Nintendo announced a slew of other games for the Switch: Daemon x Machina, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Overcooked 2, and Killer Queen Black.
