Actress Rose McGowan indicted on cocaine charge in Virginia

Authorities claim that she unintentionally left her wallet behind at Washington Dulles International Airport after a flight.

McGowan's attorney Jim Hundley declined to comment.

Actress and activist Rose McGowan will stand trial in January on a charge of felony cocaine possession in Virginia.

The actress previously suggested agents hired by disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein may be behind the incident, aimed at discrediting her for making sex assault accusations against him.

The Charmed alum's trial date has been set for Tuesday, June 12, just one day after her indictment. She claims that she received a message on Instagram a few days later about her wallet and the cocaine.

In a court filing last week, attorneys for McGowan argued that the five hours between the plane landing and the wallet being found make it impossible to prove the cocaine was hers. There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia.

Through a spokesperson, Weinstein has consistently denied any allegations of "non-consensual sex". The crew who cleaned the United Airlines plane following her flight found her wallet. The police said two bags of cocaine were in the wallet. McGowan has said repeatedly that the drugs may have been planted on her, and are not hers.

Weinstein was indicted and charged with rape in the first and third degree and a first-degree criminal sexual act last month.

"I'm the only one who's had handcuffs on me so far in this situation", she told the publication. He couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
