David De Gea is not thinking about leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid this summer, insisting his focus sits exclusively with the Spanish national team ahead of the Russia World Cup.

"The important thing is the World Cup - there can not be anything else to turn your attention away from that", the 27-year-old said.

"The thing is, though, that what he said at the time was in public so I think his apologies should also be made publicly", De Gea added.

"From the off I gave a press conference saying it was all a lie but people spoke about me", De Gea told Spanish sports newspaper Diario AS.

De Gea should be focussed on the World Cup as he looks to take Spain all the way to the final and win the trophy.

In seven years at Old Trafford, De Gea has become a firm fans' favourite and one of Jose Mourinho's most important players, but he would not be drawn on his future at the club. "It is easy to talk about others in this country".

Daniel Ricciardo suspects Mercedes have the upper hand in Canada
"Even though Max was quick all through practice, we knew the chance of pole was an outside chance", said Ricciardo. I feel like we had one run here, one run there to kind of get it right.

'But I'm always calm.

"I was more or less hidden ahead the media because there was a time that I have not been treated as I should", De Gea continued. "I still don't know what was behind it all and everything that came out a few days before the start of Euro 2016". "A lot of people criticised me, knowing that what they said about me was not correct, but afterwards they did not have the bravery to rectify what they said". "I just want to be 100 percent focused on the World Cup".

The allegations were later found to be false and De Gea and Atletic Bilbao midfielder Iker Muniain, the other player implicated in the scandal - were not called to provide evidence by the judge in the case.

"It's a World Cup, you always go with the same desire", De Gea said. De Gea said he is ready to counter star Real marksman Cristiano Ronaldo.

"We are very excited, there is a good team, a good group".
