Wonder Woman 2: Patty Jenkins teases return of key character

This is all doubly surprising given that the Wonder Woman sequel's set in the mid-1980s. As you may or may not know, the sequel to the highly successful Wonder Woman film is now shooting, with both the title and the setting indicated as "Wonder Woman 1984". Whether this is Wonder Woman trying to familiarize herself with popular 1980 programming in the movie, or its Gadot's clever way of revealing the film's new title remains to be seen.

Director Patty Jenkins has released the first photo from Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to the 2017 hit Wonder Woman, and she's bringing back a familiar face. Are you glad to know that Chris Pine will be back as Steve Trevor? Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros.

The sequel is scheduled to be released on November 1, 2019, and will also star Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig.

Filming for Wonder Woman 1984 is taking place in Washington D.C., Alexandria, Virginia, and in the UK, Spain, a d the Canary Islands. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are EPs.

Patty Jenkins, the director of both Wonder Woman movies, tweeted an image Wednesday of Steve staring bemused in what appears to be a shopping mall. Oscar-nominated editor Ricahrd Pearson (United 93) is editing the film. Johns is credited as a co-writer on Wonder Woman 1984.
