Millie Bobby Brown Deletes Twitter After 'Homophobic Memes' Go Viral

The lil darlin" has been the latest victim of violent meme culture and has deactivated her Twitter after a series of memes started doing the "rounds that falsely attributed homophobic quotes to the star.

The star of Netflix's Stranger Things deleted her account after a meme spread which depicted her as a murderous homophobe. It's unclear why Brown was the target of online harassers, although the actress is an outspoken supporter of LGBTQ causes and advocates for GLAAD's Together movement.

Now that it's Pride Month, it seems as though the memes have resurfaced so that some can get a laugh at the expense of the 14-year-old.

The teen said she was stuck for about 45 minutes and had a brief medical check up immediately after. The McLeod County Sheriff's said they cited Kaitlyn for underage drinking after she was freed.

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has left Twitter after being used as a homophobic meme.

Millie has also disabled the comments on her Instagram account, which she posts to frequently.

"You are grown adults, editing photos of her with captions that include the f slur, violence against lgbt community for comedy and it's f**king gross".

And one said - with receipts - that "MILLIE BOBBY BROWN SUPPORTS LGBTQ+".
