The Croat, the title holder at the Nature Valley Open, eased past the German Mona Barthel, who won both their previous encounters, 7-5 6-1.

Donna Vekic and Johanna Konta will meet in the semifinals in a rematch og last year's final.

Claiming her 15th WTA win on grass in her career, the Croat clinched a spot in the first semifinal of the year.

First seed Coco Vandeweghe beat fellow American 7-6 (6) 3-6 7-6 (12) to set-up her own semi-final against Aleksandra Krunic, who saw off Veronika Kudermetova 6-2 6-2.

"I was confident today and I knew I had to go for my shots, and it worked out well".

Top seed Ashleigh Barty booked her place in the quarter-finals of the Nottingham Open, as Johanna Konta got the better of British rival Heather Watson.

Giuliani suggests Trump may pardon Manafort after Mueller's probe
President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani told CBS News correspondent Paula Reid on Friday that he advised Mr. He said the messages indicted to a clear fault in the special counsel's probe and called on it to be suspended.

Watson made the better start to the second and led 4-1 but Konta fought back and edged a close tie-break.

But the methodical Konta kept her composure and, against an increasingly erratic opponent, won four games in a row to take the first set. "She's playing very well on this surface".

The British number four reached her first WTA quarterfinal with a 7-6 (8/6), 6-1 win over Stosur, the champion in NY in 2011.

In a feisty contest, Evans saved a set point in the opening set before claiming the only break of the match to set up a clash with Spain's Marcel Granollers.

Barty came through in under an hour, winning 6-2, 6-0 to set up a semifinal with Japan's Naomi Osaka, who defeated Romania's Mihaela Burzanescu 6-4, 6-1.
