Paul Manafort's chances of flipping on Trump just went through the roof

Manafort, who was indicted on conspiracy and money laundering charges with ex-business partner Rick Gates in October, had been largely confined to his home, tethered to two Global Positioning System ankle monitors while awaiting a trial set for the early fall.

Manafort is now confined to his home in the Washington suburb of Alexandria, Virginia, and forced to wear a Global Positioning System monitoring device.

Much of that money went into NY real estate, including a home improvement company in the Hamptons, a brownstone in Brooklyn and a condominium in Soho. In December, the judge signed off on his plan - provided he could provide the correct documentation. Mr. Manafort paid them 2 million euros in 2012 and 2013, according to court documents. That brings Manafort's grand total to seven criminal charges in DC federal court.

On Friday afternoon, the president did question the revocation of Manafort's bail. Kilimnik, who prosecutors say is living in Russian Federation, did not appear in court.

Manafort's lawyers have argued that the evidence suggesting he tampered with witnesses is thin.

She denied his lawyers' request to delay his detention while they appeal.

For example, he said, the government had discovered Manafort was trying to hide his communications by using a technique called "foldering" in which multiple people have access to the same email account and communicate by saving messages in a drafts folder rather than sending them.

The decrease is in part the result of the European Union and Italy training and funding Libya's coastguard to intercept vessels. France has offered to take in any passengers who qualify for asylum and want to go there.

Defense attorneys said revocation of bail would be very harsh. Manafort was previously released on house arrest but will be in jail awaiting trial after a federal judge revoked his bail, saying that she "cannot turn a blind eye to this".

"Trump doesn't have the luxury of waiting to see what happens with Manafort's trial, because Manafort is likely weighing whether to flip as we speak", Cramer said.

Manafort is charged with conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, and false statements, in addition to the obstruction charge. He will stay in jail until the end of his trials, which are now scheduled for late August and September. He will remain in custody until his trial, which is expected to begin in early September.

In asking for Manafort to be jailed, prosecutor Greg Andres said in court that there was a danger Manafort would continue to commit crimes. Gates has since changed his plea to guilty and agreed to help prosecutors, because of the significant cost of his legal fees and attention bearing down on him and his family.

The witness-tampering claims that triggered Friday's hearing revolve around alleged actions by Manafort and a longtime associate alleged to have ties to Russian intelligence services, Konstantin Kilimnik.

Manafort chaired the Republican's presidential campaign during the period when Trump, a former reality TV star, won his party's nomination.

Manafort now spends his days stuck in his Alexandria, Virginia, apartment under court order.
