Duchess Meghan makes first joint appearance with queen

The earrings the Duchess of Sussex wore on her visit to Cheshire were a touching gift from her new grandmother-in-law, the Queen.

Many fans of the former American actress Meghan Markle, who became the lawful wife of Prince Harry, he noticed that she managed to make friends with Queen Elizaveta II. The event took place for the opening of Mersey Gateway Bridge, where the queen unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.

The pair were pictured smiling and laughing as they opened the Mersey Gateway Bridge, a new toll bridge over the River Mersey and one of the UK's biggest infrastructure projects in recent years.

The opening event will be held at Catalyst Museum in West Bank, Widnes, which offers a bird's eye view of the new crossing from the glass top observation gallery.

The royal visitors stepped onto the blustery platform at Runcorn station to be welcomed with polite handshakes and curtsies from local dignitaries - and wild cheering and applause from hundreds of flag-waving schoolchildren.

The Queen and Meghan will also travel to Chester, where they will be given a tour of Storyhouse Theatre.

They will then head to a lunch at Chester Town Hall, as guests of the city council.
