One of the biggest royal events of the year is the annual week of horse races known as the Royal Ascot.

The last time the Duke and Duchess sat in an Ascot Landau was on their wedding day, exactly a month ago, on 19 May.

Her entire ensemble was from the designer, with a bespoke hat from Queen Elizabeth's favourite hat maker, Philip Treacy.

By giving Markle a nickname, not only does this show that Prince Charles approves of his new daughter-in-law, but it is also a sign of his affection for her.

Earlier in the day, officials said Harry and Meghan will make their first official trip overseas to Ireland next month.

Thomas Markle also said the Duchess of Sussex broke down in tears when he confessed he would not be attending the wedding during an emotional phone call just days before she was due to walk down the aisle.

Prince Harry and Meghan joined the Earl and Countess of Wessex in an Ascot Landau as they made their way to day one of the event near their wedding venue, Windsor Castle.

Judi said: "There's still a lot of Markle body language here though especially during a small moment of dithering from Meghan ". The royal couple has also announced plans to make an official trip to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga in October.

When asked if he thought Prince Harry was a "Trump supporter", Markle said: "I would hope not now but at the time he might have been".

The Duchess of Sussex arrived dressed in a cream coat, with a cream and black hat; the Queen wore yellow.

The couple arrived in a horse-drawn carriage, a practice which began in 1825, along with Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex. The visit is at the request of Her Majesty's Government.

Meghan looked incredible in an elegant white dress by French fashion house Givenchy, meanwhile Prince Harry looked dapper in top and tails.

Plus, if royal sources are correct, then it seems as if Prince Charles is truly impressed with Meghan Markle, after telling friends that the family "could not like her more".

"I was very upset that it wasn't me [walking with her], but the whole world was watching my daughter", Thomas said of the wedding.

The Duchess of Cambridge was seen wearing hers at yesterday's event, but eagled-eyed spectators noticed Meghan carried hers in her hand.
