Conservative radio host Scott Hennen asked Cramer about Heitkamp's criticism that Cramer will "vote with Trump all the time, even when it hurts North Dakota".

And he says the Court's decision this week in favor of his travel ban underscores its importance. At that event, Trump called her a "good woman" and said he hoped for her support.

"While we saw election-year politics today, I'm always willing to work with the president if he's helping North Dakota - and if he's not, I'll speak up", Heitkamp said in a statement.

After recruiting Rep. Kevin Cramer to run against incumbent Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp this fall, Donald Trump appeared to be more interested in promoting Heitkamp than Cramer. "We need intellect ... so many elements go into the making of a great justice of the Supreme Court".

On Wednesday night, though, Trump backed Cramer and lambasted Heitkamp, calling her a "liberal Democrat" and saying she does the bidding of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Heidi Heitkamp. The president described Cramer as "a special person", an "incredible person" and a "good guy".

President Donald Trump set to hold a rally tonight in Fargo, North Dakota.

Trump tweeted before Wednesday's flight to Fargo that he was en route to "fully stand with and endorse" Cramer.

Ahead of the midterm election, and with Senate control at stake, Republicans are eyeing Heitkamp's seat as a top pickup opportunity.

Strawberry Moon and Saturn to put on dazzling display this week
The 2018 Strawberry Full Moon begins with a moonrise over the Atlantic Ocean on Florida's east coast around 8:00 p.m. The best viewing will be in Africa, the Middle East, southern Asia and the Indian Ocean region, according to NASA.

In a preview of the coming U.S. Supreme Court nomination debate, Cramer - to loud applause - thanked Trump for "standing for life".

All of this is true, which is why Cramer began to smell a rat this month when Trump kept playing nice with Heitkamp.

Seems odd, given that North Dakota is 1,500 miles from El Paso, Texas.

The political realities of the state are not lost on Heitkamp, who relies on her bipartisan credentials and personal appeal in the state, and has not been afraid to tout her working relationship with President Trump and maintain a measured distance between herself and the brand of the national Democratic Party. As I said, if the President wants to meet with me, I'm ready to participate and advocate for North Dakota.

Dozens of farmers drove tractors and other farm equipment to the rally on Wednesday, just hours before Trump spoke at Scheels Arena.

The rally, organized by the North Dakota Farmers Union and others, is not billed as a protest, but seeks to draw attention to issues confronting farmers, including trade disputes and a potential decrease in an ethanol production benchmark, which would decrease demand for corn.

Right now, with Democrats heavily invested in their Heidi-is-pro-Trump narrative, would be the flawless time for Trump himself to descend on the race and rile up the Republican base for Cramer.

Heitkamp says she's curious how Trump will portray her record, which she says has favored many issues the president cares about, like environmental and banking regulations. "I only answer to North Dakotans who deserve an independent voice in the Senate".
