It has been reported that 58 firefights are battling a large blaze inside a flat at a tower block in Mile End, east London.

Control officers took more than 90 calls relating to the blaze in Grafton House, and about 40 people left the building before firefighters arrived.

Fire fighters managed to get the blaze under control in about an hour, using cherry pickers to reach the 12th floor.

It was Woods performance in the Players Championship that really caught the eye, with rounds of 65 and 69 during the weekend. With the leaders in the US Open normally hovering around par, this produces a great opportunity for Woods to capitalize.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said that half of a flat on the 12 floor was alright in Wellington Way. "Fire crews from Bethnal Green, Shadwell, Stratford, Whitechapel and surrounding fire stations are at the scene", it said in a statement.

Images and videos from the fire incident have been posted on social media, and they show smoke billowing from the building.

A brigade spokesman added: "The cause of the fire is under investigation".
