As bigger than Cormier as Miocic has looked this week, when they weighed-in on Friday morning the scales told a different story.

Stipe Miocic during the UFC 226 ceremonial weigh-in event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Friday, July 6, 2018.

Saturday night, he will try to keep his win streak alive against Daniel Cormier.

Cormier fought extensively at heavyweight earlier in his career.

That's why, despite holding the UFC's light heavyweight championship, he moved up to challenge heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

"Every person I fight is bigger than me", Cormier said this week in Las Vegas. However, the bout was pulled from the card after Holloway experienced concussion symptoms during fight week. That's only a 10 lbs. difference, considerably less than the 40 lbs. of extra weight that Miocic carries when compared to Volkan Oezdemir, Cormier's last opponent at light-heavyweight. Jones' win over him a year ago was ruled a no-contest after Jones tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Miocic was gracious after the fight, giving Cormier a fist pound prior to the official result being announced. The odds differ somewhat depending on where you shop but getting an nearly 2-1 return on a fighter like Cormier is just too good to pass up. I'm a two-division champion, baby!

Russia's expectations were low heading into the FIFA World Cup , but Cherchesov feels their efforts have won over the public. The hosts qualified for the last eight after a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over former world champions, Spain.

'I'm going to do what I have to do.

UFC 226 ended on a high note after Brock Lesnar made an appearance.

Cormier elected to drop to light heavyweight only because his friend Cain Velasquez held the UFC heavyweight belt at the time. His most recent win came over one of the scariest fighters on the roster, Francis Ngannou, who many believed was poised to become the champion but Miocic shut him out over five rounds.

Joe Rogan then interviewed Lesnar, who said that he was coming for DC! "I walked into this building and watched the heavyweight disasters from the beginning", he said. I haven't lost a round at heavyweight. Meanwhile, the People's Champion Stipe Miocic has endeared himself to the average Joe by being a throwback to another generation when a professional athlete also held a regular job in the offseason, as does the part-time firefighter. Great guy. Firefighter, hero.

"I'm 5-foot-11, at best, in my tall shoes, and I'm a grinder, and that's what I'm going to do on Saturday".

Miocic, a grown-up goofball far more likely to prank someone than talk trash, is unsurprisingly taking the massive superfight in stride.

"Yeah, we're definitely gonna make that fight".
