Cristiano Ronaldo rejects huge Chinese Super League contract offer

The multiple Ballon d'Or victor made noises to the effect that he may leave Real Madrid after nine years, following their third successive Champions League win in May. After the match he said "it was handsome to be at Real Madrid", per Bein Sports (h/t BBC Sport).

Modric, however, hopes - and thinks - that the 33-year-old will end up staying with the Spanish giants.

However, this time there appears to be more substance to the rumours.

After a report in Italy on Thursday claimed Ronaldo had accepted terms, a source close to the player told ESPN that nothing had yet been decided over his future but said talks could move forward.

The reigning world champion clawed his way back to 14th within a matter of laps and continued to fight through the field. Two weeks ago in Austria, Vettel only received a five-second penalty for taking out Bottas on the first lap.

Mendes has also given his view on the potential transfer, per Record (h/t TalkSport).

Mendes has previously insisted Ronaldo would be "eternally grateful" to Madrid if he decides to leave the club this summer. Juventus would have to find a way of affording not just his transfer fee but his wages. The offer from a so-far unnamed club which would have reportedly offered him a massive salary of 100M Euros per year. Furthermore, he was in great form for Portugal in the World Cup, scoring 4 goals in 4 games as Portugal eventually were eliminated in the Round of 16 at the hands of Uruguay.

They are the two sides in this tournament who boast rosters dominated by English Premier League stars, and the British top flight is regarded by many to be the best first tier league in the world.

Whether they will get to watch Ronaldo in a Juventus shirt next season still remains to be seen.
