Local news sources report that George Clooney, actor-husband to Amal, was rushed to the hospital following a motorcycle accident in Italy.

According to NBC reporter Claudio Lavanga, the Sardinia hospital where Clooney was being treated has already discharged the actor. The BBC reported the crash took place as Clooney was leaving his hotel in Costa Corallina, a beachside town in northern Sardinia.

Hollywood star George Clooney has been injured in a collision involving his scooter and a auto. "It turns out he had a scooter accident with only minor injuries", while another added: "George Clooney should not be tampered with 2018!"

The John Paul II hospital in Olbia said Clooney was released on Tuesday.

At least 21 dead, dozens missing after tourist boat sinks in Thailand
More than 20 people were killed when a tourist boat carrying 150 people capsized in Thailand's ancient city of Ayutthaya in 2016. Divers reported seeing "over 10 bodies" floating inside the hull of the submerged Phoenix boat, according to Thai navy Rear Adm.

Daily newspaper La Nuova Sardegna said the 57-year-old Clooney was heading to a film set a vehicle hit his motorbike. Clooney had departed his Costa Corallina hotel on what's variously described as a motorbike or scooter when he was hit by a vehicle around 8:15am local time.

Clooney has a home with his wife, human rights lawyer Amal, on the Italian mainland, on Lake Como. A photo of a Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon with a smashed windshield and a nearby scooter would seem to suggest that Clooney hit the windshield in the impact.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available. Clooney is in Sardinia to film a miniseries based on Joseph Heller's book "Catch 22", the news agency said.
