Princess Charlotte and Prince George hold the hands of their father Prince William while Kate, Duchess of Cambridge holds Prince Louis as they arrive for his christening service at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace, London, Monday, July 9, 2018.

Following the 40-minute traditional religious service, guests attended a private tea which included slices of christening cake, from a tier taken from the duke and duchess' wedding cake.

It will be the first time the new family of five will be seen together in the public.

Kensington Palace announced earlier today that Louis will have six godparents, including some of William's oldest friends business developer Nicholas van Cutsem, businessman Guy Pelly and Harry Aubrey Fletcher, alongside Lady Laura Meade, and Kate's school friend Hannah Gillingham and her cousin Lucy Middleton.

The gown is a replica of the one made for Queen Victoria's first daughter, also named Victoria, in 1841.

Three-year-old Charlotte grabbed the headlines when she walked hand-in-hand with her dad past all the press that were waiting outside the chapel.

Louis was born on April 23 - St. George's Day, England's national day - at St Mary's Hospital in central London weighing eight pounds and seven ounces (3.8 kilogrammes).

Thai cave rescue sees four more boys freed
Monday's rescue effort took about nine hours, two fewer than the day before, in a sign of growing confidence and expertise. This means that a total of eleven boys are now out of the caves, and on their way for hospital observation via helicopter.

She, too, was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Royals all gathered for Prince Louis' christening on Monday and Kate Middleton and Prince William's daughter seemingly took her sisterly duties quite seriously. Cheeky Charlotte glared intensely at the press as she told them: "You're not coming".

Kate's mother, Carole Middleton, wore a 1940s style silk crepe dress by Suzannah retailing for around $2,220 AUD.

Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip did not attend the christening.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a V-neck cream dress by Alexander McQueen and a floral embellished headpiece by Jane Taylor.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex - otherwise known as Prince Harry and the former Meghan Markle - were also present at the ceremony.

William and Harry wore matching blue suits.
