The events of the three-day riot left the inmates' lives forever changed as they fought for redemption, resolution, and the respect they deserve, ending with personal triumphs as well as heavy consequences as inmates were ultimately loaded into buses, separated, and taken away to new prisons.

It's jarring to see these women that we've followed for so many seasons in a new prison, immediately evoking a feeling of dread.

Of the transferees, Crazy Eyes certainly seems to be having the hardest time adjusting.

"First, my friends become not my friends, and then I'm given a color that other colors want to fight", Suzanne laments to Piper. "Blues and khakis have beef with each other", Piper, one of the "blues", says.

Season 6 has transported all the cast from the relative comforts of a low security gaol to the much more serious and grim Litchfield Max, where all the rules are different, and the fluorescent lighting much harsher and grainier. The investigation puts pressure on old friendships and leaves everyone wondering who they can trust.

Orange Is The New Black will stream on Netflix on July 27th. Red is seen telling interrogators just how strong her girls are, stating that they have "iron wills and f*cking nothing to lose".
