Manchester City get Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City

According to a number of sources, he is now expected to undergo a medical in the coming days, with the club's thought to have agreed a deal worth around £60m - significantly less than was being discussed six months ago.

City will pay Leicester an initial £60m for Algerian star Mahrez with a host of add-ons and extras.

Mahrez scored 17 goals in that campaign, and then having signed a four-year contract, played a major role in the club reaching the Champions League quarter- finals in 2016/17 as he contributed four goals.

Premier League champions City have agreed a £60 million ($79m) fee with the Foxes to sign the Algeria global.

Manchester City have also been linked with Napoli midfielder Jorginho with the Italy global reportedly left out of their pre-season training camp squad.

The protracted deal for the 27-year-old has filled many column inches but is finally close to completion after several years of speculation over the Algeria international's future.

Mahrez, who signed from Le Havre for just £400,000 in 2014, has made 179 appearances for Leicester, scoring 48 times.

Slimani and Amartey are expected to join Claude Puel's side for their training camp in France next week while Mahrez has been left out as he reportedly nears his switch to Manchester City.
