Since its release the game has received its fair share of criticism, with Gamespot awarding the game 6/10. No release date has been announced, but you can play Warframe for free right now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Not too long ago, the Nintendo Switch's library grew to include the likes of Epic Games' wildly popular multiplayer sandbox survival title, Fortnite, which led to owners of the Big N's hybrid mobile console giving the game's player base a big boost.

In the intervening time, Nintendo has made a concerted effort to improve its outreach to independent developers. Just last month, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé revealed that the console library already had a staggering 700 games available (in just 16 months of the system being on sale) and it seems that Nintendo has absolutely no intention of slowing down.

A spokesperson for 2K Games issued the below statement confirming that there are no plans to release the game on The Switch platform.

Having 20 to 30 games to choose from each week (that's around 100 a month, by the way) might sound incredible at first, but this could present an avalanche of problems.

"Our goal is cross-platform play", explains Warframe Creative Director Steve Sinclair.

"During development on Nintendo Switch, creating a development environment where it would be easy to create games was one of our top priorities", Nintendo Managing Executive officer Shinya Takahashi said in the recent investor's Q&A. "Rather, I think these indie games are what really invigorate Nintendo Switch overall".
