Zsa Zsa, the nine-year-old English bulldog victor of the World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin County Fair in California last month, passed away in her sleep yesterday, July 10.

Facebook Zsa Zsa, the World's Ugliest Dog, tragically passed away just days after winning her esteemed title, her devastated owner confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

Zsa Zsa, an English bulldog, is seen in an undated photo.

The nine-year-old Zsa Zsa came from a hardscrabble background, spending five years in a puppy mill in the U.S. state of Missouri and being sold at auction before she attained ugliest dog immortality. "I'm still in shock".

Princess Charlotte sasses photographers: "You're not coming" to christening
Prince William and Princess Kate have announced the godparents for today's christening of Prince Louis at the Chapel Royal at St. The Duchess of Cambridge appeared to make a special gesture to involve her tragic mother-in-law in her grandson's christening.

The nine-year-old English bulldog, whose lolling tongue and crooked underbite made her the victor back in June, died in her sleep, the post said. "It's probably going to be the same with her passing". Brainard says the dog was staying with her father and he found she had passed away when he got up in the morning. We were all saying our goodbyes and Mareslie went right over and gave her a kiss.

On June 23, Zsa Zsa won the World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in the San Francisco Bay Area community of Petaluma, Calif. "She never really showed much excitement, but yes, she was definitely living it up after she won", her owner said. There, she took home first prize: a trophy, $1,500 in prize winnings, and the hearts of everyone.

Zsa Zsa is known for her pink toenails and long tongue.
