Although England has the home advantage in the series, India is high on confidence due to their victory in T20I series.

In the first match of the three-match T20I series, Hales struggled to connect and dismissed cheaply against India.

India will eye another dominant performance as they take on England in the first ODI of the three-match series on Thursday.

The possibility of a change at the top though is not the only matter of interest in upcoming matches since seven of the 10 teams playing in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be on view during this period until August 12. It's the same ground where England had scored historic 481 runs against Australia in the recently concluded five-match ODI series between the oldest cricket rivals.

He added that India can use the series as a learning curve ahead of the World Cup and that the series will tell them much about how they are placed in their bid to be crowned world champions for a third time.

Mbappe rubs it in for Belgians, says ‘I’m in the final’
"I know that sometimes you are doing good, sometimes you are doing bad, but that's how you grow". "I think we coped with him well".

Indian team is playing an ODI after a long gap as it last played an ODI during the finals of Nidahas Trophy where India defeated Bangladesh in March. However, England, the top ranked ODI team in world cricket, come into the series having crushed a below-par Australia 6-0 in their last bilateral engagement.

India: Virat Kohli (Capt.), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, K.L. Rahul, M.S. Dhoni (wk), Dinesh Karthik, Suresh Raina, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shreyas Iyer, Siddarth Kaul, Axar Patel, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. England have been one of the finest 50 over sides in recent times and India will have their task cut against a batting line-up comprising Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan.

Though both England and India will play without the service of their best pace bowlers - Jasprit Bumrah and Chris Woakes, respectively - there is enough quality in the match with the ball too.

Time: The match will begin at 05:00 PM (IST).
