Lewis Hamilton says his post-race British GP remark was 'dumb'

Despite a solid performance by Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari, spearheaded by Sebastian Vettel, came out on top during the British Grand Prix. The victor was the pilot of the team Ferrari, the German Sebastian Vettel.

He was soon in the points and then quickly into the top six, passing cars easily on a 10-lap charge that got him back into contention for a podium.

Hamilton also explained why he did not participate in the parc ferme interviews, conducted by Martin Brundle, in which Raikkonen offered his apology. "I gave it 1000 per cent and I didn't have any energy at the end", said Hamilton.

"People expect you to get out of the vehicle and wave and smile".

"Getting back to second is huge for us and I am happy with the drive".

"It was really hurting yesterday, this morning he got a lot of treatment and to be honest before the race I was really very concerned about him". "You're have the quickest vehicle by a mile", he was told by race engineer Pete Bonnington.

Hamilton has to take some of the blame for the third corner incident with Raikkonen that ended any chance of turning pole position into a fifth straight victory at the former WWII airfield.

At the French Grand Prix, Vettel ran into Hamilton's teammate Valtteri Bottas at the start of the race, an incident which forced him to retire.

He slipped from first to third, and then last after the Raikkonen collision.

Isaiah Thomas agrees to deal with Nuggets
While never the most efficient guy, Thomas was usually good to shoot in the mid-to-high 30-percent range from deep. He was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a swap of star guards in August.

But there was no doubting the comeback.

Asked if it was because of the first-lap clash, Hamilton said: "Not at all. No". He fought back to sixth - after passing 12 cars in only 10 laps - which then became third after Marcus Ericsson crashed out at 200mph and the safety vehicle was deployed.

This time his team, who had messed up the strategy so badly just seven days before in Austria, got it right.

"Maybe we would have had a chance at the end to attack with no safety vehicle but that's two maybe's".

"Obviously we're in a tough battle this year and it's the most intense battle that I think we've probably all had but I'm very, very grateful that the vehicle was still in one piece after the first turn three incident". If I'd followed them in I'd have finished behind them. "I had the advantage of the tyres, but it was not easy to find a way through". I was looking in the mirrors too intensely!

"I came here to clarify, if he actually said something like that, I mean, he should be ashamed of himself", Arrivabene said.

"Here In Their Home", he said in Italian to his team over the radio.

"This is the greatest race of the year and this is the greatest crowd and I'm sorry I wasn't able to bring it home for you today, but thank you for your support", Hamilton said. "What an awesome day".

"The tape held up and the race was fantastic".
