"That's why I'm here, why I made the decision to come here, because I want to be part of this".

City have Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva on the right flank and Leroy Sané on the other so the need for an extra wide player in not immediately obvious. "Since the day he came to Leicester, the season he had last season as well, it doesn't surprise me to see him succeeding at the World Cup".

City set a host of records as they powered to Premier League title glory last season and transferring that success to the European stage is now one of the club's next aims. We didn't think we were going to lose but we did.

Reports on Friday have linked Maguire - who scored his first Three Lions goal in the win over Sweden - with a £50m move to Old Trafford.

Like everyone else Mahrez has been watching the World Cup this summer, keeping in touch with Harry Maguire and Jamie Vardy and sharing the Leicester pair's pain when England went out.

'England did not have an overly hard route to the semi-final but they have overcome every obstacle they faced with some solid performances.

Schnauer said he played "a small role" in the rescue efforts but the success of the operation showed what teamwork can achieve. He's got a very bouncy Australian accent and they [the rescued boys] seemed to find that quite relaxing and reassuring.

Comparing City starlet Phil Foden to masterful World Cup finalist Luka Modric, Redknapp said: "I watch him and the way that he plays, with that technical ability he possesses maybe he can be the one that does that for us in a couple of years".

The 27-year-old Algerian worldwide forward had wanted to move to the champions in January but City baulked at the £80 million fee Leicester demanded at the time. Now I'm here and I'm happy.

What happened then is something Mahrez wants to put behind him. This is the past and we are looking forward now.

"I am happy to be here and I have to show it". "Players at top clubs always have to face competition for places, it is normal for big clubs to have a lot of great players and City are a big club with a big manager", he explained. "It's a good thing".

"They have everything to try to win the Champions League".
