Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was spotted taking the match ball from the umpires while heading towards the dressing room which has now led the viewers believe that the 37-year-old is set to announce his retirement from worldwide cricket. England won a one-day global cricket series against India for the first time since 2011 after coasting to an impressive eight-wicket win at Headingley on Tuesday. Along with Root, India's spinner Kuldeep Yadav has also broken into the top ten for the first time in his career after he claimed nine wickets in the three matches.

MS Dhoni, criticised for slow scoring during England´s 86-run win at Lord´s on Saturday that levelled the three-match series at 1-1, made 42 off 66 balls.

But, after left-arm quick Willey had kept things tight early on, it was leg-spinner Rashid who did significant damage by taking two wickets in an over. Rahul got the fantastic hundred at Manchester and now he was dropped.

Dhawan turned back but, stretching out, could not beat Stokes´s direct hit and was run out for 44.

In the ODI team rankings, the top ranked team England gained one point and moved to 127, while India dropped one point and have 121 which means the four-point pre-series gap has now extended to six points. Suresh Raina (46 runs), Virat Kohli (45) and Shikhar Dhawan all put up a fighting effort, but went in vain. This led to widespread speculations on social media that Dhoni is contemplating retiring from ODI cricket.

After Morgan won the toss, Rohit Sharma, who scored a superb century during India's eight-wicket win in the series-opener at Trent Bridge, struggled to make two off 18 balls, his innings ending when he flicked Willey to Wood at deep square leg.

The teams now head for a two-week break, before facing off again for the first of the five Tests on August 1. India eventually lost the match and the series to England after Test skipper Joe Root's unbeaten 100 and captain Eoin Morgan's 88* guided them home by 8 wickets while chasing 257. The live streaming of the match will be available on or the SonyLiv app.
