Jurgen Klopp has warned Liverpool to stay focused and not get carried away by celebrating their success in the transfer window as they plot a Premier League title challenge.

He has followed that up this summer with a £170m spree on four players; Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and a world record £67m for a goalkeeper in Brazilian Alisson from Roma.

And Liverpool's activity this summer has not escaped Mourinho, who says Klopp must justify his spending with trophies.

However, Salah - the reigning Premier League Golden Boot victor and Player of the Year - showed no signs of discomfort after scoring within a minute of his introduction. We had the World Cup and then a holiday and we are back.

While fans are relishing the prospect of a genuine title push, Klopp is focusing on the final two weeks of pre-season.

'I was going to say Chelsea because of the new manager effect, the team start to perform better especially the first couple of matches but I think Liverpool above them because they've bought better players, so I'll stick to the same four as a year ago'.

Pep Guardiola delivers his verdict on Liverpool's summer transfer business
Guardiola said: "They are contenders to win the title and they will be in the future with their history". I have a young team and I am comfortable working with them.

Manchester United could be in a spot of great worry even before their Premier League campaign commences on August 10.

Their lead did not last long, however, as Mohamed Salah buried a header six minutes later - with his second touch of the game and just 52 seconds after coming off the bench.

"I think you have to be fair and now you have to demand [they win the league]", he added.

". We have to enjoy our football, otherwise it makes no sense".

Liverpool beat City 2-1 in New Jersey on Wednesday after both sides had been beaten by Borussia Dortmund. "Friendly or competitive, a game is a game and they're all important to me".

While we aren't sure which of those Mourinho may choose, one player seems confident of ending up at Old Trafford next month.
