WhatsApp has started rolling out group calling on the platform, after Facebook first announced the feature at its F8 2018 conference in May 2018.

WhatsApp has just confirmed that it's adding a radical new way to chat on the app.

According to Facebook, the new group calling feature will allow up to four people to enter into a conversation.

Messaging service WhatsApp on Tuesday announced the launch of a new feature that will allow users to make voice and video calls in a group. The feature then rolled out for WhatsApp beta users on Android earlier this June.

After all the participants have accepted the invitation, the screen will split into four screens with each member featuring in each box.

"We are deeply committed to your safety and privacy which is why WhatsApp is end-to-end encrypted, and we'll continue to improve our app with features like this one". While there was quite a handful of them, one of the major ones shared on stage was group FaceTime calls. As the name implies, group calling is where users can call groups of friends together at once, and it works with both voice and video. Do note that you need to download the latest version of the WhatsApp app via Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

That's why group support on WhatsApp is so important to so many - and now you can enjoy it on Android and iOS starting today.

Once the call gets connected, an add icon appears, on the top right, above the names of the recipients.

People can be added only by the caller/host who starts the call.
