Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) superstar Conor McGregor is all set to return to the Octagon after almost a two-year hiatus from Mixed Martial Arts.

He took a year out of the sport as he turned to professional boxing, losing to Floyd Mayweather Jnr last summer.

The pair will fight for the lightweight title, with McGregor putting his 21-3 record up against Nurmagomedov's superior mark of 26-0.

The incident resulted in two felonies filed against McGregor, who ultimately pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct count last month that kept him out of jail.

With ticket prices expected to be insane, especially on the secondary market, you've got to believe UFC President Dana White's phone will be blowing up with requests from friends.

However, in a presser line up that included the returning Nate Diaz and widely regarded number one contender Dustin Poirier, Conor and Khabib were conspicuously absent.

Other fires raging in the state include the Mendocino Complex, comprised of two blazes: the River Fire and the Ranch Fire. California's current year-round fire season is producing more extreme and destructive blazes than in the past.

On Monday, it emerged that the UFC brass will hold a press conference at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the venue for UFC 227, on Friday evening.

It's the ideal fight for McGregor to come back to, because it's the most risky.

Dustin Poirier, who Diaz is scheduled to fight at UFC 230 on November 3 at Madison Square Garden, jokingly chimed in with a similar tweet, writing, "I ain't fighting on that show either F the ufc".

"It's time to go, so it's time to go", Diaz said.

At the end of the day, we had fun, didn't we? "It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen".

McGregor and Nurmagomedov will meet in the main event of the UFC 229 pay-per-view show at T-Mobile Arena, the same spot where Mayweather stopped McGregor in the 10th round of their one-sided fight.

"This is a championship fight right here ..." When asked by ESPN about Diaz's tweet, UFC White said: "I have no idea (what that means)".
