Ruth Reed, from New Jersey, USA, thought she was helping a down-and-out man pay for his food at a petrol station.

Reed said Urban stuck $5 in the donation box at the register and happily took a picture with her. "Being at the right place at the right time and too stupid to recognize Keith Urban when you see him".

"For three years, I have made a resolution to once a week treat someone at Wawa", Reed wrote in a Facebook post that was put on Twitter by one of her former students. He said, 'Ruth I'm Keith.' And I said, 'That's who you look like Keith Urban.

The pair then posed for a photo outside of the Medford store, which he was visiting ahead of his concert on Friday night in Camden. "He said 'I am Keith Urban, ' and I said 'No you're not, really?'" New Jersey resident Ruth Reed said. What made the encounter even more special was she helped him pay his tab. He thanked me and asked my name.

GOP Rep. Chris Collins Hit With Insider Trading Charges
Lawyers for Collins released a statement expressing confidence he would be "completely vindicated and exonerated". Collins reportedly surrendered to federal agents in Manhattan this morning and was taken into custody.

Luckily, Urban's bodyguard confirmed to Reed that the man she helped was, indeed, the Australian star.

"Yes and then he said "That's my sister we can ask her" and I said 'Okay I don't think she would lie to some old lady'". Why he didn't have enough cash on him to buy a coffee is a bit unclear, but then again, who among us hasn't found themselves unexpectedly short a few dollars while trying to make a purchase? She noted that the singer was "gracious".

Reed admits she took some convincing. It turns out he was a country music superstar. "I asked where Nicole [Kidman] was and who was the lady [he was with]".
