"West Ham have great fans and play in an unbelievable stadium, so to sign here brings me great joy".

The 32-year-old joins the Hammers on a two-year deal after spending the second half of last season on loan at La Liga side Espanyol.

He has Premier League experience having spent a two-year spell at Aston Villa, leaving in 2016.

West Ham are among several clubs to have expressed an interest in Perez, who is surplus to requirements at the Emirates after the signings of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over the last two transfer windows.

"I also want to give my thanks to my team-mates and to the staff of this club for giving me the opportunity to make my debut in one of the best leagues in the world and win the FA Cup".

According to Goal, Perez has undergone a medical with the east London side and will arrive to provide depth to Manuel Pellegrini's squad in attacking areas - where his versatility will be useful as he can play up front or in wide areas.

"I am always aiming as high as I can and if we can put West Ham in the Champions League why not?"

Perez, 29, is the London club's eighth signing of the summer joining Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop, Jack Wilshere, Aindriy Yarmolenko, Fabian Balbuena and Felipe Anderson in completing the move to the London Stadium.

Director of Football Mario Husillos has expressed his happiness of landing the Spaniard saying he is very experienced and will help West Ham score goals and be creative up front.
